The Release

Two investigations have reached Graymere. The sky is about to give them a new question.

Trayvor and Stacia arrive from Peshcey carrying records they cannot reconcile. Mira and Oman have only just returned from their own search through the past. Neither group expected the answers to send them back onto the road.

Then a pale edge appears beside the familiar moon. Old accounts take on new significance, and separate fragments of evidence point toward the northern works, where Keepers and builders are attempting something they do not fully understand.

Haeden, Eyvee, and the others travel north to learn what is being made—and what it may cost. At the heart of the work is a dormant child. As the sky changes and the ancient structure begins to fail, uncertainty no longer gives them the luxury of waiting.

They must decide what they can trust, what they are willing to do, and who will take responsibility afterward.
